FAQ

I’m travelling alone – is that OK?

That’s the essence of GoodMate Travel: a multitude of our travelers join our journeys because they are embarking on solo adventures and seek to connect and share experiences with fellow like-minded individuals hailing from various corners of the globe.

How many other travellers are on each trip?

Our tours offer a Small Group Experience, typically with an average of 16 participants and a maximum of 20.

How do you arrange room sharing on the trip and who will I have to share with?

During our trips, rooms are typically allocated on a twin-share basis. For solo travelers, we match them with another traveler of the same gender, as indicated by the gender marker on their application form. However, if you prefer your own private space, the option to reserve an individual room is also available on most of our trips.

How does the payment work?

You have the option to make a one-time payment or take advantage of our deposit and final payment plan. To secure your reservation, a 30% deposit is required. Please be aware that 10% of this deposit is non-refundable. The remaining 70% of the tour cost must be paid in full no later than 90 days before the tour’s start date.

Can I get the refund?

Cancellations made more than 30 days before the trip will receive a full refund, except for the non-refundable 10% deposit. For cancellations made between 15 and 30 days before the trip, a 70% refund of the total tour cost will be provided. If you cancel your tour 8 to 14 days before the trip, you’ll be eligible for a 50% refund of the total tour cost. Regrettably, no refunds will be issued for tours canceled within 7 days of the trip.

I have special dietary requirements – will they be catered for?

We will make every effort to accommodate your dietary requirements to the best of our abilities. However, in certain remote locations, it may be challenging to provide specific guarantees. If there are places on your itinerary where this may pose a challenge, we will notify you in advance. To ensure we can meet your needs, please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies at the time of booking.

Do I need to purchase travel insurance for this trip?

Traveling with GoodMateTravel requires you to have comprehensive insurance covering cancellation, personal injury, death, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, evacuation expenses, personal liability, loss of personal property, and COVID-related expenses before embarking on your journey. It’s crucial to ensure that your insurance also extends to all the activities you plan to enjoy, especially if you’re an adrenaline enthusiast indulging in adventure activities. Your safety and peace of mind are our top priorities.

If you are looking to experience the “real” Korea look no more. Jae and Chris are the best when combining their knowledge of delicious authentic comfort food spots and night markets to Korea’s rich history found within the grand palaces, calming gardens, and beautiful temples. This trip is only recommended for those who are open to fun food adventures, impromptu paddle boating, enduring a physical yet worthwhile hike after a night of losing at drinking games, must be able to count, and sing all night when it’s noraebang time…in a sequin jacket. Real Korea is the real deal hosted by 2 of the most 대박! guys you’ll ever be blessed to meet. Can’t wait for the next trip.

I recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by visiting Korea, and it exceeded all my expectations. Thanks to the incredible guides Jae, Chris, and Rupali, I discovered the beauty of Korea through its nature, cuisine, and local activities like coffee hopping, Han River hangouts, and noraebang. Grateful for an unforgettable experience! It took me a while to decide to join a real Korea trip, and I couldn’t be happier that my first visit to Korea was with them. I met incredible people and crafted countless memories that I’ll cherish forever.

I didn’t expect, so far from home, to feel so at ease. This trip made me feel so welcomed in Korea, like I saw a side of it I wouldn’t have seen on my own, and I got lifetime friends in the process. I had read reviews before I booked but I didn’t really understand until I experienced it- going on Real Korea Trip allowed me to experience visiting a place I had dreamed of visiting for years with more joy and more laughter than I could have ever imagined. What Jae and Chris have managed to create is something magical and I feel lucky to have experienced it.

Real Trip Korea was the best thing I’ve ever done. Jae and Chris share their passion for the people, places, culture, food, and fun of Korea in a way I could never do as a solo traveler. I didn’t want to leave. I can’t wait to go back. If you’re thinking about joining the Real Korea Trip family adventures, I say do it!

I truly recommend this trip! This was my first organized group tour by myself. From the first moment I felt comfortable and part of the group and Jae and Chris were amazing. We did so many different things. The mix between free time and organized activities was perfect. I loved all the restaurant and hotel choices and learned so much about this beautiful country and its people. I really hope I can go again sometime!
